We currently have a great assignment for a Survey Party Chief (Construction) with one of our top clients. As a Survey Party Chief (Construction), you will be supporting our client, one of the world’s largest engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), maintenance and project management companies.

Job Responsibilities

The Survey Party Chief (Construction) will join the project team in Riverdale Park, supporting the construction of a large transit project. The Survey Party Chief (Construction) responsibilities will include:

  • Reviewing job specifications and planning fieldwork methods
  • Directing and conducting field surveys
  • Making accurate measurements and assisting in the determination of property boundaries
  • Providing data relevant to the shape, contour, location, elevation or dimension of land and/or associated features
  • Accurately calculating and recording field data
  • Responsible for supervision of the survey field crew, including assigning work, meeting completion dates and budgets, and ensuring consistent application of firm operating standards and safety practices
  • Responsible for work outcomes and results

Job Requirements

Specific qualifications for the Survey Party Chief (Construction) role include:

  • 5+ years of surveying experience preferred with construction layout of transportation projects including roads, bridges, walls, railways, utilities, storm drain and grading
  • Prior experience using survey tools and GPS equipment required
  • Experience managing survey team required
  • Coursework in surveying or engineering helpful but not required
  • Experience with boundary, topographic, as-built surveys and construction staking required
  • Experience with use of Trimble robotic total station or similar late instrumentation for horizontal and vertical layout
  • Ability to run traverse and level loop
  • Ability to use data collector and associated computer programming to produce layout information
