We currently have a great assignment for a Sr. Project Manager with one of our top clients.  As a Sr. Project Manager, you will be supporting our client, a commercial general contractor located in Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD.

Job Responsibilities

The Sr. Project Manager will be responsible for multiple base-building construction projects, reporting progress on projects or tasks or asking team members for the status of certain jobs.  The Sr. Project Manager will lead a team of Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers (4 to 6 people) by being hands on and in the field when required, mentoring and assisting with the growth of each team member, and shall:

  • Delegate tasks and responsibilities to subordinate project managers, assistant project managers, contractors and laborers 
  • Lead team in communicating with architects, clients and vendors of the products they are using
  • Oversee all progress reporting on multiple projects or tasks and encourage team members to maintain progress reporting on the status of assigned projects
  • Effectively work with project owners, architects, subcontractors and co-workers on multiple projects
  • Be responsible for the project's end product as well as areas including permitting, programming, design, construction and occupancy

Job Requirements:

Specific qualifications for the Sr. Project Manager role include:

  • 10+ years of project management experience in ground-up, base building and tenant build-out construction 
  • Strong experience managing a team of project managers and assistant project manager on new construction, major renovations and tenant build-outs within the K-12, Higher-Ed, Commercial and Healthcare markets
  • Thorough knowledge of project reporting throughout projects, permitting and construction administration
  • Thorough knowledge of commercial building systems, construction drawings and documentation 
  • Experience delegating project responsibilities to subordinate project managers and assistant project managers 
  • Proven experience setting realistic expectations for a team and leadership in surpassing them 
  • Experience managing the client relationship during a project 
  • Proactively be able to anticipate and solve problems before they arise
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills required
  • BS or BA degree in Construction Management (or similar)
  • Master’s degree in Construction Management a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of and experience with construction software, e.g. Timberline, Prolog, Primavera, SureTrak and MS Office Suite
