We currently have a great assignment for a Senior Project Manager with one of our top clients. As a Senior Project Manager, you will be supporting our client, a well-respected Mid-Atlantic general contracting firm headquartered in York, Pennsylvania.   This firm specializes in servicing the senior living, urban, institutional, healthcare and higher education markets.

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for managing key projects ranging in size from $1,000,000-$10,000,000 throughout the northern Maryland region.  Primary responsibilities for this position include the following:

Oversee direction of assigned projects from cradle to grave, effectively planning, managing and executing all key aspects of projects

Working directly with client, establish project objectives, scope, policies and budget

Conduct formal start-up meetings and planning meetings to orient the subcontractors with their specific scopes of work

Perform project scheduling while controlling direct job material and labor expenses

Monitor construction and financial activities of project to ensure project remains on time and under-budget

Develop a project logistics plan in conjunction with the project schedule to effectively and efficiently execute the work

When working in existing facilitates or campuses, hold planning meetings to include the owner and subcontractors to coordinate construction operations

Participate in constructability review meetings and present comments and concerns relative to site logistics, construction, material sections and required details

Ensure that assigned projects are executed in accordance with the contract documents and the top quality standards of the company

Specific qualifications for the Senior Project Manager role include the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or related field required
  • 8+ years of experience in project planning, scheduling and managing subcontractors a must
  • In-depth working knowledge of construction trades mandatory 
  • Strong administrative and communication skills with both subcontractors and employees and ability to work well with clients and make effective presentations
  • Able to travel within 75 miles to job sites
