We currently have a great opportunity for a Senior Manager, Hotel Renovations with one of our top clients.  As a Senior Manager, Hotel Renovations, you will be supporting our client, a highly-respected Pennsylvania-based construction firm that develops, owns and operates a portfolio of more than 10 million square feet of commercial, industrial, hospitality, retail and multifamily properties.  

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Manager, Hotel Renovations will be responsible for leading the client’s brand new start-up endeavor of Hotel Renovations, specifically targeting Property Improvement Plans (PIP's) in select service to upper mid-scale hotels, and shall:

  • Identify project opportunities working from personal knowledge base of management companies that execute their own renovations (as opposed to those who outsource)
  • Track when hotel renovations are mandated by the brand franchise
  • Define the scope of work of prospective projects related to and required to meet the standards of the respective projects brands as it relates to the impact on project costs and schedules
  • Estimate project costs employing methods to accomplish brand look with lower cost models
  • Assist clients with all franchise negotiations
  • Source and procure design teams as needed based on the scope of work determined
  • Source, qualify, engage and manage subcontractors needed to execute the company’s projects
  • Create and manage budgets and schedules from planning through completion of project with goal of facilitating the fastest execution of renovations to minimize room count down time
  • Manage the complete project from preconstruction to construction, completion and return to ownership and operations
  • Manage Fixtures, Furniture & Equipment (FF&E) installations as required by clients
  • Maintain the master schedule with Owner furnished items as well as GC items to assure minimal disruption

Specific qualifications for the Senior Manager, Hotel Renovations role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related discipline or a combination of college coursework and work experience
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive hotel renovation project management experience
  • A thorough understanding of the subcontractor market that executes hotel renovations
  • Strong understanding of project scope, cost and estimating in relation to hotel renovation projects
  • Strong knowledge base of management companies that execute their own renovations and ability to track when hotel renovations are mandated by the brand franchise
  • Proven value engineering ideas that have been acceptable to standard brand franchise requirements
  • Strong management and leadership skills along with scheduling expertise
  • The ability to create and monitor cost and schedule goals when executing renovation projects
  • Proven ability to manage FF&E installations
