We currently have a great assignment for a Senior Construction Consultant / Claims Analyst. As a Senior Construction Consultant / Claims Analyst, you will support our client, a multidisciplinary engineering and consulting firm that provides construction consulting, project & program management, civil engineer & surveying and litigation support services.

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Construction Consultant / Claims Analyst will be working with other senior management team members and will be expected to provide technical expertise on project controls, scheduling, scheduling analysis, claims analysis and earned value management on a variety of ongoing assignments, including commercial, institutional, educational, industrial, power, highway and bridge, utility, marine and heavy civil construction projects located in the United States, Canada and Mexico, duties to include:

  • Performing technical reviews of Initial Critical Path Method (ICPM) Project Schedules and monthly Critical Path Method (CPM) Update Submissions
  • Preparing written comments in letter and report format
  • Monitoring monthly schedule update submittals and identifying impacts or deviations from the approved baseline schedule
  • Tracking the status of critical activities and changing to the critical path
  • Attending periodic schedule update and progress meetings
  • Analyzing impacts and delays using accepted industry methodologies
  • Preparing productivity analyses and earned value analyses using accepted industry methodologies
  • Reviewing and commenting on construction claims arising from complex issues


Job Requirements

Specific qualifications for the Senior Construction Consultant / Claims Analyst role include:

  • B.S. Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 8+ years minimum of construction project management experience preferred
  • Must have expert level proficiency with Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project
  • Professional Engineers license or professional certification such as PSP, CCM or PMP are preferred
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to review, comment on and develop complex CPM schedules including cost and resource loading
  • Experience applying various claim delay techniques including Time Impact Analysis, Windows Analysis, Impacted-As-Planned and Collapsed-As-Built to quantify delay
  • Experience reviewing and preparing both assertive and defensive claims (e.g., evaluation of schedules, contract documents and project records to determine the cause / effect of delays and cost overruns, attributing responsibility for cost and schedule impacts to the various parties and preparing written reports
  • Must have reliable transportation and have or be able to obtain a U.S. passport and be willing to travel about 20% of the time
