We currently have a great assignment for a Senior Civil Engineer with one of our top clients.  Our client is a full-service consulting firm offering a wide array of Program and Construction Management, Project Controls and Engineering services.

Job Responsibilities

The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for planning, permitting and designing land development, utility systems, roadways and other infrastructure components for the government, institutional, commercial, airports and transportation-related projects.

The Senior Civil Engineer will be responsible for the following:

  • Evaluate sites for proposed construction and make recommendations
  • Produce detailed designs and documentation for construction and implementation of civil engineering projects
  • Develop and organize the delivery of Project Plans and Specifications
  • Consult with other engineers, architects, landscape architects, environmental scientists and other project consultants and stakeholders
  • Design and Permit Civil Construction Projects including the design and permitting for Stormwater Management and Erosion & Sediment Control
  • Prepare engineering calculations required for the design of projects and coordinate the development of construction drawings
  • Mentor Junior Engineers and CAD Operators

Job Requirements

Specific qualifications for the Senior Civil Engineer role include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required
  • 5-10 years of Civil Engineering Design experience with at least 3 years of progressive project management experience
  • Experience managing a team of at least 5 people
  • Extensive experience in the design and permitting of Stormwater Management Facilities in the Mid-Atlantic Region
  • This role requires a self-sufficient and flexible person with the ability to work on several projects simultaneously
  • Must have an aptitude for computing and design and be skilled in the use of civil engineering design and drafting software such as Autodesk Civil 3D, StormCAD, WaterCAD, PondPack, AutoCAD and Microstation
  • Must be authorized to work in US without employer sponsorship
