We currently have a great assignment for a Project Controls Specialist IV (Construction Scheduler). As a Project Controls Specialist IV (Construction Scheduler), you will be supporting our client, one of the world’s largest engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), maintenance, and project management companies. The Project Controls Specialist IV (Construction Scheduler) will join the project team supporting the construction of a large transit project.

Job Responsibilities

The Project Controls Specialist IV (Construction Scheduler) will be responsible for serving as a Scheduling Team Leader providing direct supervision to a small team of project schedulers and reporting to the Project Controls Manager. Other responsibilities include:

  • Developing and maintaining work breakdown and project coding structures for control and integrity of work defined by the contract
  • Developing and maintaining an integrated engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) resource loaded schedule
  • Performing what-if schedule scenarios, advanced scheduling analysis and variance analysis reports
  • Submitting monthly schedule updates
  • Preparing and submitting invoices based on earned progress
  • Analyzing variances in schedule performance against the plan and communicating the reasons for the issuance of variances and proposed mitigation plans to Project Management
  • Overseeing and leading the Time Impact Analysis submission process
  • Developing and maintaining the project (S curve) progress including design, procurement, construction, commissioning and testing
  • Facilitating and participating in the internal and external schedule review meetings
  • Working in collaboration with construction to drive consistency of the project scheduling approach to facilitate accuracy in project execution and reporting and managing project float
  • Monitoring and troubleshooting potential scheduling problems and defining and implementing scheduling software (Primavera P6) management processes and procedures
  • Supporting the project controls manager with evaluating team member performance and helping them with career development

Job Requirements

Specific qualifications for the Project Controls Specialist IV (Construction Scheduler) role include:

  • Accredited four year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study
  • 10 years minimum experience managing an engineering, procurement and construction schedule
  • Experience with master site planning, field planning / scheduling for large projects (transportation infrastructure project preferred)
  • Proficient in Primavera Project Planner P6, MS Project and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience with Time-Location System (TILOS) software preferred
  • Experience with Public-Private Partnerships (P3) preferred
