In anticipation of an upcoming contract, RealStreet is currently seeking a Preventative Maintenance Engineering Technician. The Preventative Maintenance Engineering Technician will support our client in Panama City, Florida.
The Preventative Maintenance Engineering Technician’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Utilities Management Support
    • Collecting meter readings
    • Locating utilities
    • Performing utility system inspections and assessments
    • Develop long-range plans to assure adequate capacity and reliability of utility systems
    • Design evaluation and reviews
    • Cost estimate reviews, tracking progress against program requirements
    • Prepare reports
  • Technical Infrastructure Oversight
    • Conduct studies of equipment and services and provide recommendations
    • Collect field data (could require ground penetrating radar) to assess feasibility of proposed work
    • Provide oversight to ensure conformance with environmental and safety requirements
  • Energy Reporting and Management Technical Support
    • Prepare Defense Utilities Energy Report System (DUERS) reports
    • Data preparation to support statistical calculations
    • Assist with maintenance of Automated Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system
  • Utility Infrastructure Condition Assessment
    • Obtain and maintain accuracy of utility assets contained in MAXIMO and other databases
    • Facilitate accurate, annual utilities risk and criticality assessments using Navy software packages
    • Perform inspections using knowledge of NAVFAC Points of Demarcation and Utility Infrastructure Condition and Assessment Program (UICAP) assessment criteria

Job Requirements

Preventative Maintenance Engineering Technicians must meet the following requirements and have the following licenses and certifications, knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Current and favorable National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or higher level security clearance
  • A minimum of 5 years of engineering technician experience with utility systems (utility commodities include fire/potable water, wastewater, electric and natural gas)
  • Understanding of engineering concepts, principles and practices applicable to civil, mechanical, electrical, and/or environmental engineering
  • Ability to work independently and perform with limited oversight
  • Database development and maintenance experience
  • Experience in reading and interpreting engineering plans
  • Advanced Metering Infrastructure experience
  • Knowledge of IBM Maximo or similar program
