We currently have a great assignment for a Civil Site Engineer to support our client, a prestigious leader in the management consulting community as trusted partners to Federal agencies.  Our client is seeking a Civil Site Engineer to be part of the Facility Condition Assessment team within the Border Security and Law Enforcement portfolio.  This position is located in the Columbus, IN area.

Job Responsibilities

The Civil Site Engineer will be responsible for ensuring that the physical infrastructure that supports the US Border Patrol is safe, functions appropriately, meets code, and shall:

  • Provide technical advice for key Border Patrol infrastructure along the northern and southern borders of the United States
  • Develop schedules and identify required materials for facilities observations and surveys
  • Provide visual inspection and inspections using hand-held tools
  • Inspect and assess the condition of structural assets and components
  • Identify deficiencies and provide cost estimates through RSMeans to replace or repair the deficiencies
  • Provide an overall risk condition score for each asset using a provided formula
  • Ensure assessment efforts follow all CBP policies and procedures

Job Requirements

Specific qualifications for the Civil Site Engineer role include:

  • 6+ years of experience in Civil, Structural or Architectural building design
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or Architecture
  • Professional Engineering licensure is required
  • Knowledge of  building design, facilities and engineering management
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience with RSMeans
  • Ability to travel 50% of the time within the United States
  • US Citizenship
  • Ability to obtain an affirmative DHS Clearance Suitability determination
  • Experience in interpretation of the International Building Code (IBC)
