We currently have a great assignment for a Sr. Quality Assurance Manager (MEP Construction) with one of our top clients. As a Sr. Quality Assurance Manager (MEP Construction), you will be supporting our client, a leader in providing world-wide pre-construction and construction-phase services focusing on Federal Government and private clients.

Job Responsibilities

The Sr. Quality Assurance Manager (MEP Construction) position is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and will be supporting multiple construction and renovation projects within the healthcare industry. The Sr. Quality Assurance Manager (MEP Construction) will have a strong background in observing building systems construction and commissioning, specifically: mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems. The Sr. Quality Assurance Manager (MEP Construction) will participate in early planning and design discussions and reviews through documented daily QA field observations, resolution of punch list issues, commissioning and start-up, and additional duties include:

  • Reviewing contract documents to include technical submittals, construction plans and schedules, BIM models, LEED studies, scopes of work, RFP’s and RFI’s
  • Observing and preparing daily QA reports, documenting QA inspections and QC tests observed
  • Ensuring daily Punch Lists are maintained and items are closed out in a timely manner
  • Coordinating Testing and Inspection agency activities
  • Interpreting plans and specifications
  • Observing and documenting construction activities
  • Observing Health and Safety Plan conformance including any asbestos abatement
  • Reviewing and commenting on contractor daily QC reports, baseline and monthly schedule updates and contractor progress payment requests
  • Preparing meeting minutes
  • Reviewing contractor proposals
  • Preparing and submitting cost reports as needed
  • Conducting market research, identifying suppliers, typical costs and past performance
  • Observing and documenting startup, turnover and commissioning activities

Job Requirements

Specific qualifications for the Sr. Quality Assurance Manager (MEP Construction) role include:

  • B.S. Degree or higher in engineering or construction management is required
  • 10 years minimum experience in overseeing construction projects working for a contractor, owner or construction management firm
  • Experience observing building systems construction and commissioning, specifically: mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems
  • Experience in design, planning or scheduling is a plus
  • Certified Healthcare Constructors (CHC), certified by the American Society of Healthcare Engineering is preferred
  • Experience monitoring simultaneous projects and ability to prepare status reports
  • Experience working on healthcare projects is preferred
  • Must be a US Citizen and have a valid US driver’s license
  • Must be able to pass a background clearance check
