We currently have a great assignment for a Land Surveying Manager with one of our top clients.  As a Land Surveying Manager, you will be supporting our client, a well-respected, multi-discipline engineering firm based in Delaware providing civil engineering, planning, surveying, laser-scanning and construction services to public and private sector clients throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.

Job Responsibilities

The Land Surveying Manager will be responsible for managing field survey work and survey office work for all public and private sector projects out of the Georgetown, DE office.  Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Perform field survey work and survey office work using GPS and robotic survey equipment required to produce accurate plans depicting as-built conditions and boundary determinations
  • Ensure accurate stakeout set-up for field crews and ensure as-built of stormwater management, underground stormwater holding chambers, bio-retention facilities, and dry and wet storage ponds is accurate
  • Effectively manage multiple large projects simultaneously, manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their surveying tasks and coordinate with both internal and external teams
  • Teach and mentor internal survey crews to full potential through daily guidance and direction
  • Ensure projects are completed on-time and under budget

Job Requirements

Specific qualifications for the Land Surveying Manager role include:

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive surveying experience; experience in field and office tasks associated with land surveying and civil engineering required
  • Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) License in DE preferred
  • Ability to operate with full understanding of GPS and robotic survey equipment
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD required
  • Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, oral and written communication a must
  • Occasional statewide overnight travel required
